Inspired by a trip to the coast and the tale of summers long ago. Hog Island and the surrounding Tomales Bay is wild and serene. A swim in the water long ago to see and feel what lives below and in one's heart. 2013, Acrylic on Canvas, 22" x 28" x 1-1/2" NFS

Bay Boats for C
This painting was inspired by people who make their lives on the bay and the connection between the past and the present. After a recent trip to the Oakland Museum of California, I found myself fascinated by the Gold Rush era paintings of the San Francisco Bay. To start the drawing and underpainting of this painting I worked from an image of Argonauts Arriving at San Francisco Bay in 1849 (Source: Library of Congress). 2012, Oil on Canvas, 12" x 18" x 1-1/2" NFS
